Meet the Author
Emma Evanko is the CEO & Founder and of The Athlete’s Mental Playbook. She is also a former collegiate athlete whose experiences have led to the creation of this business. She struggled with her mental health while battling an injury and through the recommendation of Butler’s on staff Licensed Mental Health Counselor, she began journaling. Journaling provided her with a safe way to process her emotions. Through journaling, she gained a greater sense of self, perspective, and overall gratitude. When she realized that other athletes across all genders, sports, and divisions were struggling too, she knew something had to be done. So, she created The Personal Playbook in order to provide these athletes with a tangible resource and a safe community where they can feel comfortable in sharing their own struggles.

“The Athletes Mental Playbook has literally been a game changer for my athletes. After a hard day or week on the field they are eager to get their minds right and jot down how they’re feeling. The awesome prompts and quotes make it easy for them to organize their thoughts and find a page relatable to them and what they’re going through.”

"As someone who has struggled with mental health, finding new ways to cope with how I’m feeling and monitor my progress has always been important to me. The Athlete’s Mental Playbook has been a huge factor in helping me do this. It’s hard to manage being a student, athlete, having a social life, keeping up with family, all while making time and checking in on yourself. It’s important to balance your life and priorities, and The Athlete’s Mental Playbook has been a huge help for me personally dealing with all of this.”

“As a former athlete myself (football was my sport for those who don’t know me personally), it was always assumed that my mind was as strong as my body because that IS/WAS an expectation. Reflecting back, I can honestly say there were times the strength of my mind lagged the strength of my body…but to show or speak of it meant “you” were weak (in the game of football, you NEVER show weakness). It was at those times I wasn’t able to compete at my best, and had THIS product been available during MY playing days, I know, FOR A FACT, that it would have helped me maintain a balance of strength between both mind and body, ensuring I brought my best to the field EVERY day.””
